Giveaway of The Coyote Road: Trickster Tales

I have a new hardback copy of The Coyote Road: Trickster Tales edited by Ellen Datlow and Terri Windling to give out to one lucky winner.

This is a fantastic anthology that asked 26 authors to explore the myth of the trickster.

Here is the synopsis for the book:

Coyote. Ansani. Brer Rabbit. Trickster character have long been a staple of folk literature-and are a natural choice for the overarching subject of acclaimed editors Ellen Datlow and Terri Windling's third mythic anthology. The Coyote Road features a remarkable range of authors, each with his or her fictional look at a trickster character.

These authors, including Holly Black (The Spiderwick Chronicles), Charles de Lint (The Blue Girl), Ellen Klages (The Green Glass Sea), Kelly Link (Magic for Beginners), Patricia A. McKillip (Ombria in Shadow), and Jane Yolen, have crafted stories and poems drawing from cultures and traditions all over the world-each surprising, engrossing, and though-provoking. Terri Windling provides a comprehensive introduction to the trickster myths of the world, and the entire book is highlighted by the remarkable decorations of Charles Vess.

This is really neat Ryan. I vaguely remember a childrens book about a trickster when I was growing up. But this sounds really cool!

I am now going to have to figure out how to link to this blog to get the extra entries. LOL

Email address is hayden392@comcast.net

Ryan! What a wonderful sounding book. I wish I had known about it when I was still teaching reading in middle school but I just retired. Now I would like to win it for myself to read. I know many tricksters after teaching 37 years but doubt you mean them. How about Doby in Harry Potter? I think he might qualify! Thanks for the chance!

Okay, I officially LOVE this book. I haven't read it, but I know I will, simply from the blurb and the author list. Please enter me!

I can't think of a specific tale at the moment, but I've loved when there's a raven or a crow in a story, and they give the wise-but-confusing-to-the-point-of-trickery kind of advice.

Brer Rabbit would be my favourite because when I was a young girl I remember my parents reading a story to me with the character Brer Rabbit in it. I wish I could recall the whole story.
