I have a new hardback copy of The Coyote Road: Trickster Tales edited by Ellen Datlow and Terri Windling to give out to one lucky winner.
This is a fantastic anthology that asked 26 authors to explore the myth of the trickster.
Here is the synopsis for the book:

This is really neat Ryan. I vaguely remember a childrens book about a trickster when I was growing up. But this sounds really cool!

Ryan! What a wonderful sounding book. I wish I had known about it when I was still teaching reading in middle school but I just retired. Now I would like to win it for myself to read. I know many tricksters after teaching 37 years but doubt you mean them. How about Doby in Harry Potter? I think he might qualify! Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteOh Krista, Midsummer's Night Dream!! I loved that book. We read it in high school and I just LOVED the whole thing. I loved picking it appart as to what everything ment. I will have to go pick that book up to have on my self and then I can read through it again and again in the future. Thanks for mentioning it!!

ReplyDeleteI can't think of a specific tale at the moment, but I've loved when there's a raven or a crow in a story, and they give the wise-but-confusing-to-the-point-of-trickery kind of advice.

Brer Rabbit would be my favourite because when I was a young girl I remember my parents reading a story to me with the character Brer Rabbit in it. I wish I could recall the whole story.
