Mailbox Monday for September 21st, 2009

Mailbox Monday is a weekly meme hosted by Marcia at The Printed Page.
The only book I didn't buy this week was Taken by Norah McClintock, which I won from Jaime at Revenge of the Book Nerds!

I bought three hardcover book from the Dollar Tree store, for you guessed it, a dollar a piece.

Manor House by Juliet Gardiner which is a beautiful companion book to the PBS show of the same name.

I also took a trip to Barnes & Noble for what was supposed to be one book and I left with four.

You can get some great books at Dollar Tree! I recently picked up James Frey's new one, My Friend Leonard, there. And it's VERY hard to get out of B & N without buying something. I usually leave with at least a bookmark--LOL!

Be sure to stop by and pick up your award!

Wow Ryan! Well, you definitely have enough books to make up for the one you couldn't get past page 39. lol. Sounds like you are going to be very, very busy reading.

Happy reading!

Zia, Thank you. I've already started Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters and as much as I liked Pride & Prejudice & Zombies, I'm liking this one better.

Carolyn, I think they are two of her best books and I can't wait to get started on them.

Michelle, The Dollar Tree is one of those overlooked places to find great books.

Melissa, Thanks! I'm going to be having a blast with these books and the other ones in my ever growing TBR pile.

What a great list. Enjoy! Whenever I go to a bookstore, I always end up with more than I thought I'd get. Luckily we don't have a B&N or Borders in town, or I'd be broke.

Carol, there are days I have to force myself not to go to B&N. I work right across the street from one!

Sheila, Thanks so much! Typos are ok with me, I do it all the time.

Mary, The Dollar Store and The Dollar Tree both do. The Dollar Store tends to have them for $4-$5. The Dollar Tree always has them for $1.

I just bought Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters myself! I'll be interested to see if it holds up to the quality of P&P&Z. I also remember reading Frank Peretti when I was younger and being pretty freaked out. My first true experience with horror (if it counts?). He wrote some young adult books that my mom read aloud, too...my brothers LOVED them. Lots of adventure, suspense, creepy happenings, etc.

Wendi, It's my favorite Agahta Christie book and we are reading it next month for the Literature by Women book club on Barnes & Nobles book club site.

Celia, So far I'm liking it a little bit more than PPZ.

Fabulous finds at B&N. Sandworms of Dune was a lot of fun.

I'm reading The Man in the Brown Suit this week too, you've inspired me to add a few more Christies into every week! :)

Bella, I'm so excited that you will be reading more Christie. This time of the year really makes you want to dig into a good mystery.
