Mailbox Monday for 1/25/2010

Mailbox Monday is hosted by Marcia at The Printed Page

Ok, I'm going to be honest with you guys I went a little over board on buying books this week but I came across so many fantastic sales that I couldn't help myself.  Admiting you have a problem is the first step, right?

I got The Italian Slow Cooker by Michelle Scicolone from the publicist for review.

I bought The Sunrise Lands by S.M. Stirling in hardcover from Barnes & Noble for $.22, this was a bargain book plus I got my discount, a coupon, and the remains of a gift card.

Our last Waldenbooks closed this week and I bought Urban Gothic by Brian Keene, Death Mask by Graham Masterton, Street Magic and Demon Bound by Caitlin Kittredege all in paperback and Imager by L.E. Modesitt, Jr. in hardcover for about $25.

I bought Pride of Lions by Morgan Llywelyn, The High House by James Stoddard, and Houses of Stone by Barbara Michaels in hardcover from the Friends of The Library Bookstore for $3.

I went to Wal Mart to buy a bookcase and ended up picking some extra stuff up.  I bought A Madness of Angles by Kate Griffin and since Sleeping Beauty was going back in the vault at the end of the month I had to pick that up as well.  Red Dawn was a bargain DVD for $4.

  1. You just can't pass up a book if it's only .22! Red Dawn was a must buy! I watch it every time it comes on cable. :)

I agree with Buckeye Girl that Red Dawn is awesome! Haven't watched it in awhile, so may have to go get a copy of my own.

    Enjoy!

  5. Holy Cow. That's a lot of good looking books!! I love good horror/paranormal books, and it's looks like you got some good ones!!

Oh...Red Dawn!! Man, I loved that movie. C. Thomas Howell, Patrick Swayze, Charlie Sheen (looked like such a doll when he was young and fairly innocent! I still love him!!)

Did you see they are actually remaking it?? What is it with Hollywood and the remakes lately? Can't they have just one original idea anymore?

  18. I wish they had Red Dawn in the Walmart bargain bin yesterday when I went! I love that movie - I never understand why they only give it one star on TV. I picked up four bargain DVDs, though - Hairspay (original non-musical with Ricki Lake and Divine), Halloween H2O, Blades of Glory, and another one that I can't remember now. I was hoping for the 3rd X-Men movie, because I got the first two in that bin, but no luck.

  20. WOW! All those books from Waldens. Great list. I hope you enjoy Street Magic. I have it and enjoyed it. I have Demon Bound on the shelf here to get to. lol... I have heard mixed thoughts on both books, so I am curious on what you think of them.

Imager is on my list to eventually get.

    Enjoy your reads!
