Top 10 Favorite Books of 2009

I've been reading a lot of "Favorite Books of 2009" posts lately and I decided to join in the fun. Obviously, from looking at the list you can tell that all of these did not come out in the last year. Some of them are quite a bit older than that. I assure you that this list is of books that I read for the first time in 2009. The links will either go to my review or if it was a book I read before I started blogging, it will go to Barnes & Nobles site. I'm not affiliated with them in anyway, I just like the site. So with no further ado, here is my list of Favorite Books of 2009. By the way they are not in order.

A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens

Dark Time by Dakota Banks

Frostbitten by Kelley Armstrong

Nightwatch by Sergei Lukyanenko

Pandemonium by Daryl Gregory

The Devil's Alphabet by Daryl Gregory

The Road by Cormac McCarthy

The Secret of Chimneys by Agatha Christie

The Suicide Collectors by David Oppegaard

When You Don't See Me by Timothy James Beck

  1. Ah, yeah - wasn't The Road incredible...and more than a bit chilling? I just posted some thoughts on the book and the movie today. Hope you'll swing by my blog to check them out.

    Cheers!

  2. I have a copy of The Suicide Collectors, apparently the author is a friend of a friend of mine. He is the one who gave me the copy. I have not read it yet but knowing that it's one my your favorites, I may have to bump it up to the top!

    Happy New Year!
    Take care,
    Michelle

  3. I love these Top 10 lists, they are adding more books to my wishlist :)

Glad to see Agatha Christie made an appearance. I must read the books in the Watch series, one of my friends just raves about them.

  8. Great list Ryan - I enjoyed Frostbitten too and it made my top ten reads '09. The others I haven't had the pleasure of reading yet, so a few of those will definitely be added to my wishlist. Happy New Year! :)

  13. I always get so excited when I read other people's favorites lists. New books to explore! And favorites to remember.

I read A Christmas Carol for the first time this year and enjoyed it so much. And I really need to get back into reading paranormal books. I miss Kelley Armstrong. The Road is one I hope to get to soon. I had said I'd read it last year and the year before, but this year is the year. I mean it.

Great list, Ryan! Here's to another year of great books!
