Halloween Movies Galore!

One of my favorite things about Halloween is all the scary movies I get to watch.  I love to curl up in bed or on the couch, turn off all the lights, and get lost in a world that terrifies and entertains at the same time.  Now to be honest, I don't like most horror movies that come out anymore.  I think they go for gore instead of chills and they bore me.  I've actually been watching a lot of the old Hammer movies on TCM along with some of of Epix on Demand and my own DVDS.

I've been watching so many movies though that I'm not going to have time to do individual reviews.  So instead, I'm just going to show you I have watched to date.  Now I'm sure I'lll end up watching even more movies, all the "Halloween" movies come to mind, but these are what I have watched so far.

Plus we have watched some more family friendly movies that both Aidan and I like to watch every year.

These are all great movies. I love the Scream trilogy. So psyched that they're making a number 4! Reece is dressing up as Scream for Halloween. What's Aidan going to be?

Oh, those are all great Halloween movies...I never think of Rosemary's Baby, though, and I loved that one. I think I have it, in fact. Now to search my huge DVD shelves...LOL.

Actually, they're alphabetized, so it should be easy to find.

Happy Halloween, and don't get too FRIGHTENED...oOOOH!

The older movies are more my speed and I absolutely LOVE Hocus Pocus. When my boys were younger we watched that constantly!!

I like the older movies too. My favorite: CAT PEOPLE. Top notch noir. I'm of the 'less is more' school of film making. You know how I feel about THE LEOPARD MAN since I blogged about it, Ryan. That film practically ruined my youth. HA!

I do like the Walt DIsney version of the LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW.

I agree with you. I was having this conersation with a co-worker about new movies. It's really horror porn. It's all getting off (pardon my language) on watching people get killed or you are deranged and torture people fo rfun. I don't like movies like The Hills have eyes, the Texas chain saw massacre, Saw, or anything Rob Zombie makes. they are just gore and bad gore at that.
Give me the horror movies of the 70s and 80s, like Halloween or POltergeist or The Changeling any day over what's out now. I made the mistake of seeing Paranormal Activity 1 and 2. :(

Happy Halloween!

I'm not a big fan of horror movies, but agree with you about the newer movies being more about gore than giving you chills. Used to love the old Vincent Price movies, and we've been watching old Bela Lugosi movies this week. Now those were scary! :o

I have no idea how you manage to watch these scary movies. I'm still haunted by the movie Watcher in the Woods, which I saw fifteen years ago. And just thinking about the book, The Dollhouse murderers, which I read when I was twelve, freaks me out.

Okay, I just can't do it anymore. Turn off the lights and sit back and get scared. When I was younger it was great, but it just doens't work for me anymore. But I do love the kids Halloween movies on here. :) And the classics too. Great picks here. Hope you are doing really well and not working to hard. :)
