Mailbox Monday is a weekly meme created by Marcia at The Printed Page and is being hosted by Shanyn of Chick Loves Lit for the entire month of August.
I won a hardcover of Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone by J. K. Rowling from Kristen at Bookworming in the 21st. Century.
I received an ARC of I'd Know You Anywhere by Laura Lippman for an upcoming TLC Book Tour.
I bought three hardcovers for $1 a piece from the Friends of the Library Book Store. I found a old copy of Sleeping Murder by Agatha Christie, The Paradise War by Stephen Lawhead, and The Ruby Knight by David Eddings, which is a replacement for a book I used to own.
That's a great assortment!
ReplyDeleteDoes David Eddings stand up to adult reading (or rereading)? I loved his books so much as a teen, I'm afraid to risk reading them now.
Congrats on the win! I have the full set in hardback, except for Deathly Hallows. I have to get that one and read it before the movie comes out in November.
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love library sales?! I'm finally getting to go to my monthly one this Saturday after missing it for 3 months! In May, it was closed because of the floods. In June, I was in Michigan. And July, well, you know, I had that pesky leg infection! I can't wait until Saturday. I did pick up some really good ones at Goodwill this past Saturday. I'll be posting on them in MM later today.
Have you been by my blogoversary (it was Thursday) and entered my giveaway?
Our son was a huge Harry Potter fan so we bought each book (except the first) in hardback on its release date. I'd Know You Anywhere looks like a good one. I hope you have a great week in books.
ReplyDeleteThey both look good!
ReplyDeleteI have all the HP in trade paperback, and the later ones are so thick that they take a beating. They've all been read at least 3 times (twice by my daughter, and once by me). My son isn't old enough to read them yet, but I know he will, so I'm going to be on the lookout for nice hardcovers -- cheap!
Looks like you had a terrific week in books! I especially like the premise of the Laura Lipmann book.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
Awesome books. I've been wanting to re-read some Agatha Christie. My mailbox is at The Crowded Leaf.
ReplyDeleteWe have all the Harry Potters here. My son and husband have read them but I am sad to say I haven't read them yet. The Laura Lipmann books look interesting also. Enjoy all your new reads!
ReplyDeleteI'm always jealous of library sales. I'll be looking forward to your thoughts on I'd Know You Anywhere.
ReplyDeleteThe Laura Lippman book looks good. And you always seem to have good luck with your library sales. My local library has their big yearly sale coming up next month. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI love library book sales for just that reason!
ReplyDeleteI am hosting a giveaway on Rose City Reader for one of the books in my mailbox.
Harry Potter! :) We have the books here, I just haven't got to it yet. And more Agatha! :) Great week, hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI love Lawhead!! The Lippman book looks very intriguing!!! One of these days I'm going to reread all of the HP books!
ReplyDeleteI'd Know You Anywhere is looking better and better to me. I look forward to your review.
