I've been pretty hard on Stephen King as of late, namely I haven't really liked a new release from him in a very long time. Michelle of The True Book Addict is a humongous fan of his and is always trying to convince me to give him another try, so when I saw Nightmares & Dreamscapes and The Talisman by him and Peter Straub in hardcover for $1 a piece at the Friends of the Library Book Store I figured I would give them a try. The Talisman will be a reread, but not one that I've read for many years, and Nightmares & Dreamscapes will be a new one for me. I also picked up Archangel by Michael Conner in hardcover for $1 as well, it's an alternate reality story set in Minneapolis, MN in the 1920s after a virulent plague that only kills whites.
The Secret (Of Happiness) by Demosthenes Armeniades was sent for review. It calls itself an offbeat fairytale-thriller so I'm really looking forward to this one.

Your post reminded me that I have a copy of Archangel sitting on my shelves. I've had it for yonks. Might be time to pick it up!
Here lately, I've been thinking I need to give Stephen King a try, so I'll be anxious to see what you think of his books.
I loved King's earlier stuff and quit reading him about 12 years ago. I just haven't been inspired to pick up anything of his newer works. Enjoy your books!

I love Stephen King!! Have you read "Under The Dome"? I have it, but haven't started it yet. The size is a bit daunting.
I've only read a couple of Stephen King books myself (including On Writing, which is great). I hope you enjoy all of your new summer books.

I craved Stephen King when I was pregnant and read Nightmares and Dreamscapes during that time. My son turned out normal though :)

Haven't heard of Archangel, but it sounds interesting! Haven't read King in years, but my DH loves him and keeps trying to talk me into giving him another chance. I keep saying 'maybe some day'....
