I'm rather ashamed of myself for not blogging about my love for this wonderfully depressed and melancholy donkey before.
Eeyore has been my favorite Disney character for as long as I can remember. He is so adorably sad all the time that you can't help but fall in love with him the moment you meet him.
Being the most popular pessimist in the world can't be a easy task but he manages to do it with style and grace. Whenever I'm feeling sad or blue I just think to myself how Eeyore would act in the situation and it cheers me right up.
The sad thing is that as a 33 year old man I own 2 coffee mugs, a couple of Christmas ornaments, more than a few stuffed animals, and 2 little figurines. The hard thing is to find non-feminized versions of Eeyore. For some reason he is the only male character that Disney tends to make girly. I even own him dressed in a tutu as the Sugar Plum Fairy. One of these days Disney will realize that Eeyore is a man's man and will treat him as such.
As Eeyore would say if he were here "Thanks for noticing. Nobody ever does."

Nice to find a kindred spirit. The Winnie the Pooh characters are my very favorites of all the Disney characters. And I love Disney. But Eeyore is my ulitmate favorite. As much as I love Pooh's innocence and Piglet's shyness, it's Eeyore's sadess and insecurity that talks to me. Sheesh. That makes me sound rather pathetic!! Truly, I'm not.
Several years ago the newspaper here ran a weekly quiz with the first few people who answered questions correctly being published the following week when the new questions were asked. I was among "the winners" the week one of the questions was "who was a main character in Winnie-the-Pooh." Evidently I was the only one who responded Eeyore. :)
Oh, I just LOVE Eeyore, he's so cute!! I have lots of favourite disney characters. I have most of the DVD's and lots of CD's of all the songs *blush*
I am a 44 year old woman whose fall jacket has Eeyore on the back along with some of his best quotes. It's getting a bit raggedy, but I just can't give it up! :-)

I'm a Tigger girl myself, but Eeyore is definitely an awesome character!
Yep, I'm an Eeyore fan, too! He's the coolest and the cutest.... Fun FFC!
Eeyore is just so loveable, even when he is slightly pathetic.
Eeyore is one of my favorites! Think it's a tie between him and Grumpy for my favorite t-shirt. Tigger is okay, but Eeyore is the man!
I loved my Winnie the Pooh stuffed bear as a child. My mom is fanatic for all things Disney, she tried to drag my dad there yearly at minimum. Sometimes she goes twice a year.
I was wondering when you would get to Eeyore, being that you mention him in you bio. Eeyore is an awesome pooh character, like you said who could not love him?
Well Ryan, I think I have my FFC up if you would like to check it out. I think I got a little bit on the rambling side this time. Oh well.
I think I have a Tigger personality.... there has to be an online quiz somewhere... LOL
I always kind of related to Eeyore.
We love Eeyore at our house! And have for generations. My mom still remembers her stuffed Eeyore. It had a tale that buttoned on and off. So awesome! We also love Tigger. We all have or had Eeyore and Tigger PJ's.
Thanks for a fun post!
Hey Ryan, just wanted to thank you for mentioning Glee. We hadn't watched it (were afraid it was another 90210 or something lame) but after you recommended it we taped it and just watched it this morning. We laughed like crazy. Great characters, music and dancing. Love the cheerleading coach! Thanks again!
Stephanie, No it doesn't. That's what speaks to all of us.
SFP, I thought he was the main character. I didn't realize there were other characters :-)
Carolyn, Nothing to blush about. I"m a huge fan of Disney DVDS. Can't get enough of them.
Lezlie, Never get rid of that jacket. If you do decide to, I will take it off your hands.
Trisha, Tigger is ok, but Eeyore is the man!
Krista, He is rather cute isn't he!
Jen, The pathetic aspect of him is what makes him so cute and loveable.
Alexia, I completly agree with everything you said.
Deb, Now I will say my favorite stuffed animal as a young kid was a Winnie the Pooh bear.
Melissa, I'm horribly ashamed of myself for not doing it sooner. I'm so embarrassed by it. I just read your post and LOVED it!
Sheila, If there is let me know so I can take it.
La Coccinelle, I did and still do relate to him.
Gregory, Eeyore is a love that knows no age. I'm so glad to know you guys like Glee. It is one of the best new shoes this year.
Ryan, Thanks for the wonderful comments!
Hey, did you notice La Coccinelle has started doing the FFC as well. I think you may have a catchie thing here. ?
We shall see...
I could hear Eeyore's voice as I was reading this...you are very passionate about him. About like me with cats, although they're not fictional characters (actually some are)! I have a ton of cat figurines that I have in a small glass curio from IKEA. I control myself now, but sometimes people still buy one for me every now and then.
Winnie the Pooh in general just brings back memories of when I was a child. I feel oddly comforted when I think about the stories and characters...like curling up with a favorite book. All the characters are wonderful, but my fondness always returns to Tigger...I guess it's the cat thing all over again! =)
Michelle, Tigger is ok....I guess. :-)
Here's my link.
I think this is a fun sort of meme. I hope it catches on!
La Coccinelle, Thanks for joining the fun! I hope it catches on too!
