Dixie Carter, 1939-2010

I would like to take a quick second and say goodbye to Dixie Carter, the fabulous actress who played Julia Sugarbaker on Desinging Women for 7 wonderful years.

She passed away today and while I never agreed with her politics, I always appreciated her style, grace, and acting ability.  She was a phenomenal actress with an incredible voice to go along with it.

I would like to thank her for the hours of enjoyment she has given me throughout my life.  She will be missed.

OMG...I loved her as an actress. Was she sick? I hadn't even heard anything. How sad. =O( May she rest in peace.

I hope I don't forget that I already stopped by! I'm in the middle of the read-a-thon so I'm a bit delirious...LOL! Hope you're having a nice weekend!

I just read this this morning. I remember Designing Women following Golden Girls so I remember it fondly.

She will be missed.

I was so sad to hear about this. I loved the character of Julia Sugarbaker!

Here's one of Julia's more memorable rants: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wV86kehwkc0&feature=related

I thought this was so sad, too - she was the epitome of grace and charm.

I just saw that she had passed on. And then I thought of your FFC post of the Sugarbaker's. Man, I really did enjoy those shows. It is such a shame these last few years the talent we have lost.
