Mailbox Monday for 12/12/11

Mailbox Monday is a weekly meme created by Marcia at A Girl and Her Books and is being hosted all this month by Jenny of Let Them Read Books.

On a trip to Barnes & Noble (which I just found out this location is closing, leaving us with only one) I picked up a  paperback of Intrigues by Mercedes Lackey, a trade paperback of Orcs by Stan Nicholls, and a hardcover of The Winds of Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson.  The last two were off the clearance table, which had an extra 50% off.

From Target, I bought two DVDs.  I picked up Mickey's Christmas Carol and Holiday Inn.

My reading has slowed down considerably. Such a lot of work to finish by year end. Your DVD's look like a lot of fun.

Great new loot Ryan. That ORCS cover is kind of freaky. Love the movie Holiday Inn...enjoy all your new loot.

Nice mailbox but the cover of ORCS is enough to give you nightmares ;)
Happy reading!

I don't think I'd want to meet that guy from Orcs on a dark street corner. Scary! Have a fun week, Ryan, and enjoy your new books and DVDs.

I have never read a book by Lackey, a shame really

Holiday Inn...such a good movie! They sure don't make them like that anymore! I hope Barnes and Noble isn't the next bookstore to go. It is the only one we have left and even that isn't too close to me.

Orcs looks like something my hubby would be into. Might have to snap that one up for him for x-mas. Enjoy your books!

Lots of good reads but saddened to hear another book store is closing. Feel better friend :)

Oh, no! Don't tell me that Barnes and Noble's following Borders' footsteps!

You're lucky--at least you have a Barnes & Noble :(

Great-looking mailbox! Holiday Inn is my sister's favorite, and I love Mickey's Christmas Carol, and Pluto's Christmas Tree, which is on that DVD too.

Looks like you picked up some great one. I really should watch Holiday Inn one of these days.

Ooh, I love Holiday Inn! Though I haven't watched it in years. I think it might be time to do so again. Thanks for reminding me!

I really enjoy Holiday Inn. I just ventured into our local B&N, haven't been inside in over 6 months and was surprised to see how they've cut back on their displays!! Frightening!

Are you feeling better? How did you like Holiday Inn?

You got some good books. I've been wondering about Orcs. I'll be interested to read your review.

Hope you're having a great week! Thanks for the Christmas card too. I haven't sent mine out yet. Yikes!
